The Day– Janai and Deon’ta were married at the Center of Hope in Houston, TX. I was struck by the bride’s unique family dynamics, as Janai has two dads who have been a committed presence in her life. It’s beautiful to see the connection between fathers and daughters but to see TWO connections, both powerful and important in their own ways was really special, as her biological father passed away some years back. She could have easily favored one over the other, but she didn’t do that. She had them both walk her down the aisle, kissing her and shaking hands when they got to the front. There wasn’t a dry eye at the entire wedding. Beyond amazing! This family has energy and love for days and days. And so many reasons to capture what life looks like at this particular moment. Janai and Deon’ta’s wedding blended traditional elegance with modern flare with rich colors of blues and purples, they photographed beautifully.
Janai and Deon’ta finished their wedding ceremony by jumping the broom, and then it was time for the reception! The dance floor stayed packed, and everyone had a fantastic time! It was such a pleasure to work with this family and capture all their fun, silly togetherness on this beautiful Texas evening.
